Inked and Abroad presents – The Glob

Hey who let you in? Oh, the front door was open? No worries. In that case, welcome to my Glob!

I know what you’re thinking. Glob sounds weird. A bit like the noise a meat pie makes when it falls out of a window. And that’s true. What’s also true is that there are so many blogs online that I couldn’t bear to add another. Plus I think ‘glob’ sounds hilarious.

Life is pretty short, my battle with Leukaemia has made me acutely aware of that. But at the same time, life is quite long. In the confusing grey area between those two realities is where you’ll find this glob.

I write about the places I see on my travels. The people I meet. The things that happen. Sometimes these will result in great travel tips for your next adventure. Other times, they’ll be a self-indulgent mess. What you manage to take from them is really up to you. I hope you learn something. I hope you’re entertained. But what I hope most of all, is that they remind you that the very darkest moment in your life, a period that sees you at your lowest ebb, can really be the beginning of the best times you’ve ever known.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the glob.

“Sexual Heroin”. She repeated herself. “I am sexual heroin”. Then paused. Letting the words she had used to describe herself wash over me. This was a woman who was trying to entice me, and maybe perhaps threaten me, to this day I’m not sure. Despite [...]

The Colombian Question – Cocaine and Cassie Sainsbury

Cassie Sainsbury. It’s a name that has quickly risen from obscurity to one synonymous with idiocy. It’s a story that seems to be repeated in the news on a regular basis. A young life, be it man or woman, is caught overseas with copious amounts [...]

I will confess I’ve encountered terror in my life. Over the course of my 7 months of chemotherapy and subsequent surgeries he and I actually become friends in a warped way. When the spectre of death points an ethereal finger at you it seems a [...]
